We are so excited to now be a party of six!
"Adopting one child won't change the world: but for that child, the world will change."
Today was the day! WE are so excited to add a new son to our family. We arrived at the Henan province registration building at 10:00 this morning to wait for his arrival. However, when we got there, he was already there. As it turns out, he has not been in his orphanage for the past several months. He has been living with a foster family and they brought him today. Both Will and the family had a very hard time saying goodbye to each other. It was very sad because when they left Will cried for the next hour. Nothing calmed him down and he just kept calling their names. Finally he relaxed enough to eat a lollipop. He did not want us to hold him but let us play next to him after he relaxed some. He got very upset again when it was time to get back on the bus to go back to the hotel.
Although it was a rough morning, we fell in love instantly with his sweet and precious face. He also had this adorable mohawk haircut. On the upswing, once we got to the hotel, his demeanor completely changed. He immediately warmed up to us, ate some noodles and has been a different child ever since. We have been playing and bonding with each other and the other families all afternoon. We can't wait to see what the next several days will bring. Hopefully we can communicate a little more since he keeps speaking to us in Mandarin. :) For those of you asking, YES--Will completes our family. We are getting too old. Four is our magic number.
